Job ResponsibilitiesThe State Law Enforcement Division (SLED) is searching to fill an IT Security Administrator position in our IT – Information Security Department. The candidates must have a bachelor’s degree, experience, and a strong working knowledge of security tools and principles.General ResponsibilitiesUnder general supervision, serves as the lead Security Administrator for the SLED Information Security program. Performs security analysis, conducting regular security assessments of SLED’s systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and potential security threats. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant security policies and regulations. Create and maintain documentation as necessary following departmental procedures and techniques.

Specific Duties

Responsible for conducting regular security assessments of SLED’s systems, networks, and applications to identify vulnerabilities and potential security threats.

Develop and implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with relevant security policies and regulations.

Monitor and respond to security events and alerts from multiple sources as well as respond to potential threats and vulnerabilities. Manage Microsoft 365 Defender Suite and other security tools. Configure security policies to protect SLED’s endpoints and servers. Administer identity security solutions such as MFA, Single Sign-On (SAML, OpenID Connect, OAuth), and automated provisioning

Provide technical leadership to less experienced members of the SLED Information Security team. Advise management on correct actions to maintain and enhance security of SLED.

Research the latest risk trend in security and recommend risk enhancements to the risk management program.

Perform threat hunt operation using known adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures as well as indicators of attach in order to detect adversaries with persistent access to the enterprise.

Provide on-call support when needed and other related duties as required.

Minimum And Additional Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in information technology systems, computer science, cybersecurity, or a related field with 3+ years experience in a security focused role. Relevant experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis

The candidate will be asked to be on-call when needed.

Employee will be required to pass a background, fingerprint check, and polygraph.

Extensive experience with security tools, including SIEM, IDS/IDP, EDR, and mail filters. .

Advanced knowledge of application, hosted service, and cloud security principles.

Ability to independently deploy, manage, measure, and audit system and network security.

Ability to solve complex problems & apply critical thinking skills to needs or problems.

Ability to work effectively with users, staff members and other IT units.

Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
