Position SummaryServes as IT Security Analyst, performing a wide variety of duties and tasks related to Cybersecurity, security, maintenance and documentation of all security related operations throughout the Borough of Chambersburg, including all departments and activities.
The IT Security Analyst is responsible for duties associated with the daily security needs, under the supervision of the IT Supervisor; performing a wide variety of duties and tasks related to firewall, computer, server maintenance, documentation, and execution of all security operations for the Borough of Chambersburg.
This is technical work of a complex nature which involves responsibility for recommending policies and procedures for the efficient operation of the Boroughs Cybersecurity posture. This position requires basic to intermediate knowledge and understanding of the operation of the Borough along with a keen understanding of general all-around security to address future needs for improvement and technological innovation that is crucial to the continuing success of the organization. Additionally, the position requires basic to intermediate knowledge of computer networking, and a wide variety of duties related to all borough computer operations. This encompasses generation, management, distribution and improvement of all computer-generated information and processes. The work of this position is performed independently while under the general direction of the IT Supervisor.

Monitors and analyzes Cybersecurity risks on a daily basis;
Creates, schedules, facilitates, and presents IT training for employees on Email Phishing and other Security concerns;
Maintains the integrity of all systems through approved security procedures;
Installs upgraded equipment and software as needed;
Troubleshoots and analyzes system performance and security problems;
Prepares and reviews annual penetration test;
Contributes to and maintains the cybersecurity risk management plan;
Keeps abreast of current developments in the information technology security industry;
Oversees and monitors updates to the Boroughs web and intranet pages;
Must be available for emergency calls and after-hours responses on weekends, evenings and holidays when required;
Must be available to attend evening meetings;
Performs other duties as assigned and required within the scope of assigned responsibilities.
Ensure the design of the system allows all components to work properly and efficiently together;
Make recommendations for future upgrades;
Serves as third-tier technical support in troubleshooting problems reported by the helpdesk and deskside support technicians, and analyze and isolate issues;
Maintain the integrity of the network, server deployment, and security;
Manages, plans, and implements Active Directory and Group Policy security;
Updates and maintains driver and software packs used in imaging computers;
Updates the Boroughs web pages of various departments as well as intranet web pages;
