Position Overview:
As a Security Officer at our Arlington, Virginia location, you will play a key role in maintaining a safe and secure environment at an office building. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle security-related situations with professionalism and calm. Shifts are available across the 2nd, and 3rd shifts, providing flexibility for part-time work.
Key Responsibilities:
Monitor and control entry and exit points for authorized personnel only
Conduct regular patrols to maintain site security and deter unauthorized activities
Write detailed incident and activity reports for each shift
Respond promptly to emergencies, including fire alarms, medical incidents, and security breaches
Provide a professional and approachable presence when assisting clients, employees, and visitors
Operate security equipment such as radios and CCTV systems
Collaborate with fellow security personnel and local law enforcement if necessary
Qualifications:
Valid DC SPO
Prior experience in security, report writing, and access control
Strong attention to detail and excellent verbal and written communication skills
De-escalation Training
Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods
Ability to handle stressful situations with professionalism
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay range: $21 to $23 per hour, based on experience
Health benefits available after one year with the company
Training opportunities, including CPR and basic security training, as well as on-the-job training
Flexible scheduling to accommodate shift preferences
What We Are Looking For:
Valid DC Special Police Officer Security License is required. DC SPO and Maryland Guard Card, preferred.
Strong communication skills and the ability to write clear, detailed reports.
Attention to detail and the ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations.
Experience in general security duties, patrols, and access control preferred.
A dependable work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and reliability.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, and work overnight or rotating shifts as needed.
