As we continue to expand our digital infrastructure, we are seeking a proactive Junior Security Engineer to strengthen our security posture and protect our critical data and systems.

Job Description:As a Junior Security Engineer, you will be an integral part of our IT and cybersecurity teams, tasked with implementing robust security measures across our infrastructure. You will monitor our systems and networks for security threats, implement security solutions, and respond to and mitigate security incidents.

Responsibilities:

Monitor and manage security solutions including FortiGate firewalls, FortiSIEM, and FortiEMS to ensure robust network and endpoint security

Oversee the security aspects of cloud services, particularly within AWS and Azure environments, integrating security controls with Azure AD

Conduct security audits and reviews and perform regular vulnerability assessments using tools like Darktrace

Implement and manage identity and access controls, integrating and maintaining Azure Active Directory (AD)

Design and conduct internal phishing campaigns to assess employee vulnerability to phishing attacks and set up targeted training for employees who fail these tests to enhance their awareness and response strategies

Participate in internal security scans for PCI and SOC compliance, including the collection and organization of compliance evidence from teams on a quarterly basis

Assist in the development, enforcement, and audit of security policies and procedures that comply with SOC 2 and HIPAA regulations

Help maintain security documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare data protection standards

Educate and train staff on security protocols and best practices

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of security threats, solutions, and enhancements

Respond to and resolve security tickets logged by the system in a timely and effective manner

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field

1-2 years of experience in an information security role, with hands-on experience in security products like FortiGate, FortiSIEM, FortiEMS

Familiarity with conducting phishing simulations and delivering security training programs

Understanding of security protocols, cybersecurity frameworks, and secure coding practices

Experience with cloud security aspects, particularly in O365, Azure and AWS

Strong analytical skills and ability to assess and manage risk

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic team environment

Preferred Skills:

Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CEH is an added advantage

Understanding of AWS infrastructure and the basic workings of IIS and PHP

Knowledge of using FortiSIEM and Darktrace is an added advantage

Experience in the healthcare industry, with an understanding of SOC 2 and HIPAA compliance requirements

Experience in conducting PCI DSS compliance scans and related security assessments
