Description:
Under general supervision, leads work of assigned security officers and performs regular security officer duties for assigned areas. Performs security officer duties and leads work of assigned security officers. Patrols assigned areas to check for criminal activity, rule violations, and irregularities. Investigates and reports hazards, unusual or suspicious circumstances to campus police unit as needed. Coordinates and monitors work activities of field Security Officers at particular locations.
Monitors shift activity and makes recommendations for adjustments in shift assignments as needed. Trains new security officers or other personnel and provides on-going work
leadership
. Performs other job-related duties assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requires a high school diploma or GED. Requires a minimum of three (3) years directly job-related experience. Must have a valid Texas Driver’s License. Requires a basic knowledge of grammar, spelling, punctuation and simple mathematical functions like percentages, ratios, etc. as might normally be acquired through attainment of a high school diploma or GED. Daily computer use required; must be proficient with using Microsoft Office suite.
Must pass a Criminal History Check and valid TX Driver’s License check prior to an interview. Must pass Background Investigation prior to employment. Must pass a pre-employment drug screening. UHPD requires all applicants to complete the criminal history fields on application. Applicants with incomplete criminal history fields will not be considered for a position. Required information includes: DOB Driver’s license Last 4 digits of SSN Veterans are strongly encouraged to apply and will receive preference in employment over other applicants for the same position who do not have a greater qualification.
