Summary of Objective:
The Security Specialist Lead is responsible for Security issues at all of PCI’s sites in Rockford. This position is the main point of contact and administrator of all company security activities. This includes assessing security needs, developing plans and budgets and overseeing electronic systems and physical security for facilities and parking lots across all packaging facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The essential duties and responsibilities include the following but other duties may be assigned.
Develops and maintains company Security SOP’s and Work Practices. Communicates and provides training on same to others. Consults with company leadership to determine corporation and customer security needs. Recommends equipment and services and develops plans and budgets to provide needed security systems and services. Maintains records or and insures maintenance of all electronic systems. Supervises the contract security guard service. Coordinates guard training and job responsibilities and maintains needed level of performance. Represents the company for security system and physical security issues with the DEA; coordinates DEA issues with PCI Regulatory Affairs department. Maintains an appropriate relationship and communications with the Rockford Police Department, along with the Illinois State Police Cargo Theft Unit and the Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition (PCSC) as needed Knowledge of and adherence to all PCI, cGMP, and GCP policies, procedures, rules. Attendance to work is an essential function of this position Performs other duties as assigned by Manager/Supervisor.

Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required for the stated position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Required:
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and/or 7-10 years related experience and/or training.
College Level Mathematical Skills
Advanced Computer Skills: Ability to perform the most complex computer tasks and operate various computer programs.
Full Professional Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write fluently and accurately on all levels pertinent to professional needs.
Very High Reasoning: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Be able to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in math or diagram form and deal with several abstract/concrete variables.
Ability to coordinate and negotiate with suppliers of security equipment and services is required.
Preferred:
Ability to effectively present information to various people as the job requires.
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Ability to show success in managing employees.
Ability to display a willingness to make decisions.
Law Enforcement Management Experience
Experience with the design, deployment and maintenance of key systems for large buildings
A background in police work and experience with the security of pharmaceuticals.
Experience with interviewing and the investigation process.
