Loss Prevention Specialist Jobs in Madison, WI at Metcalfe Inc

Summary: Assists the Lost Prevention Manager by mitigating theft and shrink within the store. Contributes to profitability by monitoring all store activity including surveillance to ensure safety and enforces company rules among shoppers and employees. Conducts on-going loss prevention, safety and shrinkage awareness programs for all associates and management. Treats all shoppers and store employees with dignity and respect. Performs duties that comply with Metcalfe’s safety standards and local health code procedures and standards. This position requires working evenings, weekends and holidays based on department staffing requirements.

Essential Duties: Essential job duties for this position include the following items.

Works to secure facility, monitor inventory and apprehend shoplifters
Monitors surveillance cameras to maintain store safety and enforce company policy
Ensures internal compliance among employees
Trains employees in detecting shoplifters
Monitors security, sales and recordkeeping procedures and practices
Handles sensitive company and employee information confidentially
May be asked to lock and secure the store
Works toward continuous quality improvement
Upholds Metcalfe’s culture, customer service, and performance expectations
Upholds, supports and promotes all company policies and procedures
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, the individual in this position must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skills and ability required.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred
Six months previous grocery experience preferred
Previous loss prevention or safety certification/training preferred

Language Skills:

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry

Reasoning Ability:

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

CPR/AED Certification Required, Metcalfe’s will help certify if needed
