Job Summary
The Security Manager supports the department leadership by leading and directing all security personnel. Ensures that daily physical security operations are conducted appropriately at all COA locations. The Security Manager enhances the hospital’s security posture, ensuring Joint Commission readiness and compliance with all state, local, and federal agencies, while fostering team synergy and mutual managerial support.
Education
High School Diploma required. Associates Degree or Higher in Security or other closely related area preferred.
Experience
Three to five years related management experience in Security or other closely related field required.
Knowledge of local, state and federal Criminal Statutes, and knowledge of investigative techniques required.
Knowledge of fire and intrusion alarms.
Ability to sit, walk and stand for two hours (Stand post, conduct walking patrols).
Ability to climb four flights of steps in 2 minutes (assist in evacuations).
Ability to traverse 2 blocks in four minutes (respond to alarms).
Ability to lift 70 pounds, apply physical force, and engage in hands-on contact with individuals (to apply restraints and assist in emergency operations).
Ability to qualify departmental approved firearm on designated course and maintain concealed weapons/pistol permit.
Licensures, Certifications, and/or Registries
Valid Alabama Driver’s License
Current Alabama’s concealed carry permit
