Job Summary:
As a Senior Security Engineer specializing in Microsoft Security Solutions, you will play a critical role in safeguarding our company’s digital assets. Your expertise in Microsoft E5, Sentinel, and Purview will be instrumental in implementing, managing, and optimizing our security infrastructure. You will be responsible for the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of our security posture within the Microsoft ecosystem, ensuring that our data and resources are protected against the latest cyber threats.
Key Responsibilities:
Microsoft Security Architecture Design and Implementation: Design and deploy security solutions using Microsoft E5, Sentinel, and Purview, ensuring they align with our company’s security policies and compliance requirements
Threat Detection and Response: Utilize Microsoft Sentinel to develop and fine-tune SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) capabilities, including setting up threat detection rules, conducting security incident investigations, and executing timely responses
Data Governance and Compliance: Leverage Microsoft Purview to manage data governance policies, ensuring data compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, and to protect sensitive information from internal and external threats
Security Automation: Automate security processes and responses using Microsoft E5’s advanced security features, reducing manual workloads and enhancing our overall security framework
Training and Advocacy: Act as a subject matter expert on Microsoft security solutions within the organization, providing guidance and training to other team members and departments on best practices and security awareness
Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with IT, compliance, and other relevant departments to develop a cohesive security strategy that integrates Microsoft security solutions seamlessly into our broader security operations
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a security engineering role with a focus on Microsoft security solutions
Proven experience in implementing and managing Microsoft E5, Sentinel, and Purview in a complex business environment
Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and standards (e.g., NIST, ISO, GDPR)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically about security and risk management
Relevant certifications (e.g., CISSP, Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate, Microsoft Certified: Information Protection Administrator Associate) are highly desirable
Skills:
In-depth knowledge of cloud security architectures and Microsoft Azure
Expertise in SIEM solutions and incident response methodologies
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell) for automation purposes
A proactive approach to staying updated on the latest cybersecurity threats and trends
