The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for employees, visitors, and assets. This position involves monitoring premises, conducting regular patrols, responding to security incidents, and enforcing security protocols. The Security Officer serves as a visible deterrent to criminal activity, provides assistance to individuals on the premises, and ensures the safety of people and property.
Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas, including both interior and exterior locations, to monitor for any unusual or suspicious activity.
Monitor surveillance systems (CCTV) and report any abnormalities or incidents observed during the monitoring process.
Ensure that all entrances and exits are secured, including doors, windows, and gates.
Enforce access control procedures, ensuring that only authorized personnel or visitors are allowed access to restricted areas.
Check IDs, badges, or credentials of individuals entering the premises, verifying that they are authorized to be on site.
Respond promptly to security incidents, alarms, or disturbances, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, or unauthorized activities.
Enforce company policies, safety regulations, and security procedures, including monitoring for violations of facility rules, smoking, or parking restrictions.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with security technology (e.g., CCTV, alarm systems, access control) is preferred.
