Description

Seeking a highly motivated Information Security Specialist Sr to support an enterprise DOJ cybersecurity program. This program will build upon established DOJ cybersecurity practices as well as provide an end-to-end assessment of existing systems. The Information Security Specialist Sr will ensure compliance, assist in enterprise-wide standards, provide guidance, and create appropriate related security documentation.

The ideal candidate will:

Ensure compliance with all applicable federal laws, regulations, and guidelines, and consistent with the Department’s enterprise architecture
Assist in the development and implementation of department wide standards, procedures, and guidelines governing the security of DOJ information systems, both classified and CUI, and monitor DOJ Component compliance
Provide guidance and assistance to DOJ Cybersecurity Components in implementing Cybersecurity standards, procedures, and guidelines
Maintain appropriate security documentation for all systems
Draft document review and feedback on application of security and privacy
requirements (e.g. review of System Security Plans (SSPs), Risk Assessments (RA’s), contingency plans, POA&M reports)
Determine the impact of new or changing applicable federal policy changes
Perform annual security assessments, including NIST 800-53 assessments and independent security assessments, as required.
Perform Independent verification and validation of IT Security controls
Work with the system owner to develop draft responses to CSS data calls and inquiries
Work with the system owners and other DOJ Component staff to ensure continuing compliance with DOJ IT security requirements and standards

Proficiency and/or certifications for the following tools and technologies:

CISSP, Certified Authorization Professional (CAP) or Security+ desired

Requirements

6+ years Developing, maintaining, and assessing Security Assessment & Authorization (SA&A) packages resulting in an authority to operate (ATO) for IT systems.
