Objective of the Job
Implement, manage, and maintain the bank’s information networks, including local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN), ensuring high performance, security, and reliability. The role also involves diagnosing and resolving network issues, coordinating with internal departments, and engaging with external service providers. Additionally, ensuring the security of all internal and external network connections while complying with IT governance, policies, and industry standards.
Professional Relationships
Within the Bank:
Collaborate with various departments to resolve network-related issues.
Work closely with IT and Risk Management teams to design and implement network security measures.
Outside the Bank:
Coordinate with internet service providers and vendors for network infrastructure, maintenance, and security enhancements.
Engage with external security firms to ensure compliance with cybersecurity best practices.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Strategic and Administrative Responsibilities:
Participate in the development and implementation of network and security strategies.
Ensure that network security policies align with the bank’s IT governance framework.
Provide regular reports on network performance and security to management.
Technical and Operational Responsibilities:
Design, install, and manage the bank’s network infrastructure.
Maintain and monitor network availability, security, and performance.
Identify and resolve network failures and security vulnerabilities.
Implement security measures to protect the bank’s IT infrastructure from internal and external threats.
Conduct regular assessments and upgrades of security protocols, firewalls, and network protection tools.
Collaborate with IT and Risk Management teams to develop and enforce network security policies and incident response plans.
Assist in evaluating technical proposals and recommending network solutions.
Manage vendor relationships related to network services and security tools.
Conduct regular network security audits and implement best practices.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and bank policies regarding cybersecurity.
Maintain documentation of network configurations, security protocols, and procedures.
Provide support and training to staff on network security best practices.
Execute any other tasks assigned by the direct manager.
Job Specifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in a similar role.
