A public institution in Virginia is looking to add a new Network Engineer to their growing team. In this role, the Network Engineer will be responsible for assisting with the Design, Installation, Configuration, and maintenance of network-related architectures.
Responsibilities:The Network Engineer will:
Support customers and employees via email, telephone, and face-to-face interaction.
Develop and maintain documentation related to the installation, administration, and maintenance of infrastructure.
Track work using an industry level tracking system. Jira and ServiceNow knowledge would be helpful.
Assist with scheduled and non-scheduled after-hours maintenance.
Act as an escalation point for other Engineers, Consultants, Management, and courts that provide state services
Perform other duties, as needed
Qualifications:
5+ years of relevant Enterprise Routing & Switching experience
Experience with Enterprise Network Management Platform
Networking experience
Mid-Level understanding of Firewall Administration, Intrusion Prevention, Event Analysis, Network Analytics, and Packet Analysis
In-depth understanding of network & security concepts and ability to implement solutions
Hands on experience with Advanced Switching environments (Examples: Nexus, IOS & IOS-XE & ACI)
Great interpersonal skills
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)(
Strong attention to detail
Highly organized
Desired Skills:
Experience with ACI, SDWAN & DMVPN
