Job Description
Hours: Thursdays and Friday Nights 10pm-6am Other days as needed
Department: Maintenance
Position: Watchman
Pay: $15.00 base rate per hour ($1.50 Third Shift Differential for all hours worked 10pm-6am)
Qualifications: High School Diploma plus any industrial security experience preferred. Employee must be able to communicate effectively with staff and the public, must be able to perform duties in a professional manner and appearance, and to make independent and good judgment decisions within proper policy and procedures. This position is under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor and is responsible for security inspections inside and outside the facility.
Responsibilities:
Duties include performing security patrols, protecting property from theft, fire and accidents.
Performs other maintenance duties as assigned by supervisor.
Operate a watchman’s clock and maintain communication log with Helmont Mills Watchman.
Specific duties required:
Understand details in reading fire alarm panel located near employee entrance in old building
Understand what to do in case of fire; call 911
Understand procedure involved in fire sprinkler breakage-shut off post valves diagram
Understand procedure involved in power outage
Remove snow & ice from all exit doors and maintain entrance walkways
Record gas and water meter readings on log
Turn heat on as needed
Inspect sump pumps in Dye House Department
Physical Requirements:
Lift, push/pull and/or carry sporadically throughout shift.
Perform tasks at moderate pace.
