Overview
Silverseal security is seeking a dedicated and vigilant Security Guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, employees, and visitors. This role requires a proactive approach to security, excellent observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively in various situations.
Location: Mahwah, NJ
Salary: $17.50/hr.
Shift: 7 AM-7 PM
Days: Sat. and Sun. weekend availability
Duties
Monitor premises through regular patrols and surveillance systems to prevent theft, vandalism, and other criminal activities.
Respond promptly to alarms and emergency situations, assessing the situation and taking appropriate action.
Enforce rules and regulations to maintain order and ensure safety within the facility.
Conduct thorough inspections of buildings, equipment, and access points to identify potential security risks.
Collaborate with law enforcement agencies when necessary and provide assistance during investigations.
Prepare detailed reports on incidents, observations, and any unusual occurrences for management review.
Requirements:
Valid NY security guard license
A minimum of (1) year work history in a security supervisory role
Provide friendly and exceptional customer service for the business
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to write accurate and concise reports for team members and supervisors
Ability to handle stressful situations and make sound judgement calmly and effectively
Experience in scheduling, security operations, and other functions of the security industry are a plus.
Associate’s Degree, or its equivalent, or related prior experience in the corporate security industry and/or military is preferred.
Candidates must be willing to work weekends, and holidays.
Skills
Strong observational skills with the ability to notice irregularities or suspicious behavior.
Knowledge of surveillance equipment such as CCTV systems and their operation.
Experience in conflict management techniques to de-escalate potentially volatile situations.
Familiarity with law enforcement procedures and protocols is preferred.
Certification in first aid and CPR is highly desirable.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in high-pressure environments.
