Full Job Description

The Overnight Hotel Security is responsible for the safeguarding of hotel property, assets, guests, visitors and employees.

Unarmed Security Guard with at least two-years prior experience; hotel experience preferred. Work will be at one site providing overnight security to hotel grounds. A uniform will be provided. This position will cover 3- 10 hour days a week.

Site Location: Hyatt House Seattle/Downtown

Education and Experience:

High School diploma or trade school certification is preferred, and/or equivalent work experience.

At least 2 years prior security experience required

Hotel experience highly preferred

Responsibilities:

Approach all encounters with guests and team members in a friendly, service-oriented manner.

Maintain regular attendance in compliance with company standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.

Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which include a clean, pressed uniform and correct nametag when working.

Comply at all times with company standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.

Must, at all times, be attentive, friendly, helpful and courteous to all guests, managers, and other team members.

Patrol hotel property to ensure the safety of guests and employees and to protect all hotel assets. Answer house calls, assist guests and employees with respect to safety, security and hotel operations. Initiate and follow-up all investigations of crimes committed against property and persons. Assist injured employees and guests, ensuring documentation and disposition of reports.

Respond quickly to guest requests in a friendly manner. Follows up to ensure guest satisfaction.

Initiate investigations, write incident and accident reports, monitor investigations to their timely conclusion and ensure appropriate follow-up with guests, visitors and employees, documenting all contacts.

Maintain accurate records while performing basic office duties including, but not limited to, camera monitoring, and shift activity log.

Assist supervisor in checking alarm systems, safety and fire equipment systems and closely monitoring security of the building doors, service areas and delivery areas.

Be available for any emergencies and act in a capacity to protect guests and team members and preserve the building and its systems during the emergency. Act as quickly and responsibly as possible to return the building to its normal operating status.

Do property tour during early part of the shift; checking lights in lobby areas and room corridors for proper lighting and temperature.

Complete all paperwork at the end of shift.

Ability to operate hand held two-way radio.

Knowledge of hotel policy and fire-safety procedures.

Attend or conduct all training/meetings as required by management.

Perform other duties as requested by management.

Physical Demands:

Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length.

Must be able to sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours)

Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis.

Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. in an emergency.

Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
