The Work You Will Do:
This position performs professional and administrative work in a workforce career center setting, providing services to staff, job-seekers and/or employers. This position serves as the contact person for Commerce Staff with all aspects of the regional network communications including problem solving, technical training and coordinating repairs to reduce down time and specializes in providing onsite technical IT support to ensure proper workforce operational activities are managed timely so that services in the One-Stop Center can be conducted efficiently.

Your Specific Responsibilities:
Serves as the contact person for Commerce Staff with all aspects of the regional network communications including problem solving, technical training and coordinating repairs to reduce down time.
Assist customers by providing labor market reports and other relevant market data, assisting with registration on the state website – Employ Florida; and educating employers on how to navigate the State website.
Assist in the coordination and delivery of mass recruitment services to new and existing business that are hiring on a large scale. Assist with presentations to employers and community organizations.
Organize and participate in the setup of day to day and promotional activities (job fairs and business expos), which may involve the set up and configuration of hardware and peripherals needed to ensure the success of LWDB staff.
Responsible for providing onsite technical support to workforce staff to ensure proper operational activities are managed timely.
Provides end-user support ensuring systems function optimally to meet organizational needs.
Provides instructions and assistance to staff utilizing systems and information available within the LWDB, along with other related computer data and programs to include performing diagnostics and implementing solutions to address common problems and to minimize downtime for end-users.
Monitor and maintain records, reports and files regarding specific contracts and subscriptions to ensure timely updates are supported. Including the creation of reports for equipment replacement and repairs needed for LWDB staff.
Maintains accurate inventory records, helping to verify and update inventory to ensure it reflects current LWDB assets.
Collaborate with Commerce staff to manage hardware and software inventory and coordinate system updates and software installation.
Performs other related duties as required in a “seamless” service delivery system..

Qualifications:
As a condition of pre-employment eligibility, a Level 2 security background screening is required, which consists of fingerprinting and a check of local, state, and national law enforcement records.
Minimum:
The incumbent must possess or obtain certification as a Workforce Professional Tier 1 within 60 days of employment in the position.
Knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
Required to travel locally and must furnish own transportation
Preferred:
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in IT or a related field
Professional or nonprofessional experience in areas related to IT or technology, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the preferred college education.
Possess the ability to utilize state workforce development databases and possess the ability to utilize the Internet to conduct research and obtain data.
