Full Job Description
We are seeking a vigilant and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Package/Mail Screener. The primary responsibility of this role is to inspect incoming packages and mail for any suspicious or unauthorized items. The Package/Mail Screener plays a crucial role in maintaining the safety and security of our organization and its personnel.
Responsibilities:
Receive incoming packages and mail.
Inspect packages and mail for any signs of tampering or suspicious content.
Utilize X-ray machines, metal detectors, and other screening equipment as necessary.
Follow established procedures for handling and documenting suspicious items.
Maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.
Report any security breaches or incidents to appropriate authorities.
Assist with other security-related tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Familiarity with screening equipment and procedures is a plus.
Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to undergo background checks and drug screenings.
This position may require standing or sitting for extended periods.
Work may be performed indoors in a controlled environment.
Some positions may require working evening, overnight, or weekend shifts.
Exposure to X-ray machines and other screening equipment is possible.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $21.35 – $24.30 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
