Job Summary:
The Patrol Officer is responsible for conducting security patrols to protect properties, personnel, and assets. The officer will monitor assigned areas, deter criminal activity, respond to security incidents, and ensure a safe environment for clients and the public.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct regular patrols on foot or in a vehicle to prevent and detect security breaches.
Monitor and secure premises, ensuring compliance with security protocols.
Respond promptly to alarms, emergencies, and incidents, taking appropriate action.
Maintain a visible presence to deter theft, vandalism, and unauthorized access.
Check doors, windows, and gates to ensure they are properly secured.
Document and report suspicious activities, security incidents, and hazards.
Assist law enforcement and emergency services when necessary.
Conduct firewatch duties when required, ensuring fire safety compliance.
Provide excellent customer service while interacting with clients, employees, and visitors.
Follow company policies, procedures, and post orders at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Security officer license (Class D in Florida) preferred or ability to obtain one.
Previous security, law enforcement, or military experience is a plus.
Strong observation and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and make quick, sound decisions.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Must be physically fit and able to stand, walk, or patrol for extended periods.
Valid driver’s license (if vehicle patrol is required).
Must pass a background check and drug screening.
Work Conditions:
Work may involve outdoor patrols in various weather conditions.
Shifts may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
May require standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
