Security Specialist
The Security Specialist is responsible for performing compliance reviews, technical assessments, and corrective action validation activities to support organizational security objectives. This role involves conducting research and reviewing investigations from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), as well as supporting the Government Security Officer with tracking and reporting key security metrics. The ideal candidate will have experience in security and suitability assessment and mitigation, along with strong communication, organizational, and writing skills to effectively articulate and report findings.
General Responsibilities:
Conduct compliance reviews and technical assessments to ensure adherence to security policies and standards.
Perform corrective action validation to confirm that identified security issues have been effectively addressed.
Research and review security investigations from the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and provide analysis of findings.
Support the Government Security Officer in tracking, analyzing, and reporting security metrics.
Assist in developing and implementing security protocols, procedures, and best practices.
Provide recommendations for mitigating security risks and improving security posture.
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of compliance findings, assessments, and corrective actions.
Collaborate with internal teams to address security concerns and ensure alignment with regulatory requirements.
Experience Requirements:
2 years of experience with federal security and suitability assessment, mitigation, and compliance.
US citizen with existing active Secret clearance or at minimum, eligible for Secret clearance.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication, organizational, and writing skills to articulate security findings and recommendations clearly.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Familiarity with security policies, procedures, and best practices, including federal security regulations and standards.
Proficiency in tracking and reporting metrics related to security performance and compliance.
