Job Description
Location:
Alexandria, VA – May occasionally be required to work at an Arlington Office.
Responsibilities:
Perform electronic background investigation checks using provided databases (e.g., Transunion, Equifax, Experian, Dun & Bradstreet, System for Award Management, FINRA).
Process preliminary vetting requests by reviewing and analyzing suitability and security documents (eQIP, eAPP, integrity and fitness forms, HSPD-12 forms).
Process Rap Back hits and Continuous Vetting Checks, providing recommendations for adjudication.
Update case summaries with analyses and case actions, forwarding to Federal staff for final decisions.
Manage transfer requests, pre-exit clearances, and reinvestigations, updating case records accordingly.
Maintain personnel security database (eWORKS), ensuring accurate data entry and proper case routing.
Respond to security processing inquiries and escalate complex issues to Federal Personnel Security Specialists.
Review and mentor junior contractor security staff, ensuring quality and timeliness of case work.
Work within case management systems, safeguarding Privacy Act and PII.
Assist Federal staff with security procedures and administrative personnel security matters.
Minimum Requirements:
At least 7 years of experience in security administration, background investigations, or related fields.
At least 5 years of case work experience using guidelines such as 5 C.F.R. parts 731, 1400, 736, and executive orders (10450, 12968, 13764, 13467, 13488), including background checks, security form reviews, risk assessment, and case analysis.
U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance.
Experience with personnel security case management systems, preferably eWorks.
Strong communication skills, including drafting security letters and correspondence.
FDIC support experience is highly desired.
