We are seeking a Principal Security Research Manager to lead the Microsoft Security Response Center Vulnerabilities and Mitigations Team (MSRC V&M). This role involves researching security issues across Microsoft products, collaborating with developers, pen testers, and security professionals to identify and prevent security flaws. The position offers a unique opportunity to influence all major Microsoft products and address security challenges at scale.

Responsibilities
People Management
Model our culture and values, embody leadership principles.
Coach team members, define objectives, and support their development.
Attract, retain, and invest in talented individuals.
Research and Security Analysis
Oversee assessment of security vulnerabilities, update standards, and collaborate with stakeholders.
Direct research efforts across multiple projects and security areas, ensuring effective mitigation and mitigation strategies.
Build relationships with industry, academia, and government partners, publish research, and contribute to the security community.
Maintain high standards of analysis, provide thought leadership, and develop security tools and processes.
Industry Leadership
Lead technical experts, communicate critical issues to management, promote best practices, and participate in industry events. Collaborate with other teams to identify opportunities and develop new security tools and technologies.
Qualifications
7+ years in software development, cybersecurity, or related fields, or Master’s degree in relevant discipline.
1+ year of people management experience.
2+ years in application security.
Additional requirements include passing security screenings and meeting specific location-based salary ranges. Preferred qualifications include 8+ years of experience or a Doctorate in relevant fields, and 2+ years of management experience.
