Job Summary
Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is looking for an enthusiastic, well-qualified individual to fill the Program Security Officer (PSO) Level 2 position and to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. seeking a highly qualified individual who will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security requirements for our USSF customers are met with precision and professionalism.
As a PSO, you’ll be responsible for a range of essential tasks, including personnel security requirements, Defense Information System for Security (DISS) verification, and security in- and out-processing for contractor, civil service, and military personnel. Your duties will also involve the meticulous creation and issuance of security badges, management of door proximity access systems, and the drafting of security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to guarantee compliance with Air Force and Space Force regulations and guidance.
Job Requirements:
Skills / Experience Required
5+ years of relevant DoD work experience with demonstrated/practical hands-on experience as a security specialist or closely related position
A strong understanding of security clearance processes, including familiarity with Defense Information System for Security (DISS) verification and other relevant systems
Experience in performing personnel security requirements, including in- and out-processing of contractor, civil service, and military personnel
Verifying clearances/access levels, managing security badges, and overseeing door proximity access systems.
Willingness to engage in security coordinator training and stay updated on industry best practices and evolving security threats
Ability to meticulously manage security procedures, ensuring accuracy and thoroughness in all aspects of the role
Effective written and verbal communication is essential for interacting with team members, customers, and external agencies regarding security matters
Ability to identify security risks, troubleshoot issues with security systems, and develop effective solutions to mitigate potential threats
Upholding high standards of ethics and integrity in handling sensitive information and maintaining security protocols
Education / Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in operational security, intelligence, or related military work experience

Security Clearance
Must be a U.S. Citizen. A high-level Department of Defense active security clearance may be required. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to government information.
Physical Requirements
Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time and typing and reading from a computer screen. The candidate must have enough mobility, including bending, reaching, and kneeling, to complete daily duties in a prompt and efficient manner and that may include lifting to thirty pounds, as necessary.
