Full Job Description
Plan, direct, manage the new product and sustaining development processes. Provide leadership working with global cross-functional team members with emphasis on meeting key metrics and objectives (quality, cost and duration).
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
· (100%) Project Leader (New Product Introductions and Sustaining Projects)
o Oversee and lead global projects with cross functional team, working towards the common goal of introducing new or changing products with focus on meeting key metrics including but not limited to cost, quality and timing.
o Collaborate with cross functional departments such as Engineering, Manufacturing Sites, Industrial Design, Packaging, Sourcing, Supply Chain, Quality, Finance and Marketing.
o Assure manufacturing process capabilities are evaluated, communicated and integrated into the overall product design (DFM…Design for Manufacturability).
o Develop and execute manufacturing plans for new products.
o Maintain communication channels with plant management staff and NPI team leaders regarding project status and network/production strategies.
o Support adherence to the global new product and sustaining roadmaps, project milestone process and metrics.
o Manages/reports out on projects in all areas including funding, product costs, product quality, productivity, safety, ergonomic, environmental, space and timing limitations.
o Execute risk management via identification, quantification, response development and control.
o Report out monthly to Senior Management at Product Development Reviews.
Education and Experience Profile
· Bachelor’s degree in business or technical field (Engineering or Operations).
· 3 – 5+ or more years of combined experience in relevant field: manufacturing, operations, engineering.
· Three plus (3+) years with experience in project management
Required Skills
· Working knowledge of project milestones methodology
· Project management utilizing Microsoft Project or similar software
· Proactive problem-solving identification; solving problems with the ability to assess risk/benefit and to act decisively on findings
· Ability to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization
· Effective computer skills familiar with Microsoft Windows applications, especially, Project, Word, Excel and Outlook
· Must be able to work and thrive in a global team-based environment
· High level of organizational skills
· A general understanding of zinc die casting, stamping, forging, automated assembly, metal finishing are pluses.

Project Time Management
· Activity definition, sequencing, duration estimating; schedule development and control.
· Develop and maintain an overall plan of all activity. Monitor progress against this plan and drive any necessary contingency plans to meet project objectives.
Project Cost Management
· Resource planning; Cost estimating, budgeting and control
· Develop all needed manufacturing capital plans. Assure unit cost estimates are realistic and accurate. Track and control project to established budgets.
· Capital and Expense plan ownership.
Project Communication Management
· Communications planning, information distribution, performance reporting and administrative closure
