Position Purpose: Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise, hiring a Protection Officer to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.
Employment Type: Part-time
Shift: Evening Shift
Description: The Protection Officer will ensure safety and security within the medical center, respond to emergencies, interact with the public, conduct inspections, and operate security equipment. Responsibilities include maintaining a secure environment during disasters, managing visitor control, confronting unauthorized individuals, and reporting hazards.

Schedule:
16 hours/week, Monday-Thursday, 4pm-8pm.

Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred but not required: security or military experience.
Basic Life Support certification from AHA, ARC, or Military Training Network at hire.
Active driving privileges; must notify supervisor if privileges change.
Additional Responsibilities:
Maintain safety during emergencies like fires or bomb threats.
Interact with the public regarding safety, thefts, and security issues.
Direct or escort strangers on campus.
Inspect packages and check property leaving the facility.
Report hazards, malfunctions, or vulnerabilities.
Verify IDs of employees and service personnel.
Physically restrain individuals if necessary for safety.
Operate security equipment and demonstrate basic computer skills.
