Position: Public Safety Officer – 1st Shift: 11:00 am – 7:00 pm (M-F)
JOB PURPOSE AND REPORTING STRUCTURE: Under general supervision, protects employees, patients, visitors, medical staff, physical plant and equipment, controls traffic inside and outside buildings and performs related public safety duties as assigned.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The essential duties and responsibilities include the following; however, other duties may be assigned as needed:
Policy Enforcement and Safety Management
Ensure all policies are enforced to maintain the safety and security of the clinics.
Consult with departments on the design and use of safety equipment and security measures.
Security Oversight
Address and respond to the security needs of the clinics effectively.
Identify potential safety concerns and recommend corrective or preventative measures.
Document daily activities and irregularities, including equipment or property damage, theft, unauthorized presence, or unusual occurrences.
Team Collaboration and Relationship Building
Support a positive work environment that fosters strong working relationships.
Assist the department/clinic in achieving its goals and objectives by taking on additional assignments as needed.
Time Management and Adaptability
Use work time effectively to complete assignments within expected time frames.
Adapt to changes in a manner that aligns with departmental and clinic goals.
Safety and Infection Control
Follow established safety and infection control policies to ensure a safe environment for all.
Address potential safety concerns related to equipment and the working environment proactively.
EDUCATION and/or
EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); in addition, one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
