Position Summary:
Maintains a safe and secure environment for college students, faculty, staff, and visitors by patrolling campuses to protect life and property, prevent crime, preserve peace, respond to emergency incidents, and conduct investigations of offenses at the college. Motor and foot patrols to check campus buildings, parking lots, and grounds. Secures and unlocks buildings, classrooms, and offices. Prepares incident reports. Monitors access control, video surveillance cameras, threat intelligence, event management, parking, and interoperability with mutual aid first responders.
Required Qualifications: The position requires either (1) vocational or technical school beyond High School/GED equivalent and at least one year of security guard or law enforcement experience, or (2) at least an Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement.
Licenses and Certifications:
A valid Florida driver’s license.
CPR Certification must be obtained within first 30 days of employment if candidate is not certified at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate’s degree is preferred.
Two years of experience is preferred.
Security Class-D license is preferred.
Pay Rate: hourly
$16.28 – $24.77
