Full Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree in criminal justice, business or related field preferred; two years of records management experience including one year in a lead or supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Ability to supervise with a team-oriented approach; knowledge of law enforcement terminology; highly skilled in the use of computer work stations and experience with records management software. Knowledge of current laws, rules and regulations that govern the management, retention, dissemination and disposition of police investigative records and related files. Keyboarding skills of at least 40 words per minute preferred. Excellent oral/written communication skills.This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited. Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check and education/degree verification required. This position is subject to working in high security areas governed by the US Department of Justice’s “Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Policy” and therefore requires successfully passing a more stringent criminal background check. Must be a US Citizen or have been a lawful resident of the US for the past ten consecutive years.
Duties
Supervises and coordinates the daily operational activities of the Police Records Unit shift personnel; ensures compliance with administrative and personnel policies, rules and regulations. Performs entry of incident and other related information in the Police Records Management System; performs quality control audits of data. Perform other work as required.
Shift
4 days/week; 5:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.; days vary to include weekends and holidays; occasional on-call
