Kemper is seeking a Regional Corporate Security & Crime Prevention Lead. The Corporate Security & Workplace Safety department’s mission is to ensure the safety and security of Kemper Corporation customers, employees, and physical assets worldwide through the deployment of security, safety, and crime prevention strategies. Corporate Security and Workplace Safety is committed to supporting the Company’s priorities of fostering creativity, leveraging technology, and business growth and expansion. RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is responsible for supporting the enterprise Corporate Security and Workplace Safety Programs effort, which includes:

Proactive threat assessments and intelligence driven reporting
Special events security
Improved visitor and access control at our largest office spaces
Special crimes investigation
Large-scale crisis management exercises around an assigned region or throughout the enterprise as needed or assigned.
Directly supervise / oversee security vendors and (contract security, special security support services, security technology)
Executive and Employee Protection details and support
Life Safety program Management
Law Enforcement and Government, Security Industry liaison
Incident Response
Workplace Security Awareness – assist in conducting in-person training on topics related to workplace security and safety, identifying appropriate employee audiences for specific trainings and partnering with internal communications teams.
Perform detailed research into applicable workplace violence trends, active shooter trends and best preventative security practices.
Responsible for regularly producing detailed written reports and presentations for partners and key stakeholders, prepare formal and informal written products on workplace security topics, provide written analysis of how trends could impact various work segments found in the enterprise.
Data Management and Analytics – capture related metrics where possible, analyze metrics to measure training and security controls efficiency and effectiveness, maintain database of up-to-date statistics for various threats to workplaces.
Support threat assessment and threat management programs and teams in assigned region or as required documenting workplace violence and threat and risk assessment in case management systems, presentations, or other case management tools.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
8 years of experience in the security and risk management field or public sector experience.
Working knowledge of Physical Security Systems including video monitoring, access controls and incident management tools.
Experience with contract security guard management, Executive and Employee protection program oversight and execution.
Professional designation in security management (e.g., ASIS Certified Protection Professional (CPP), Professional designation in physical security (e.g., ASIS Physical Security Professional (PSP)) or similar law enforcement or government training and certifications.
Law enforcement experience is a plus.
Excellent team player with demonstrated relationship skills and a superior ability to make things happen using positive influence.
Demonstrated time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives to meet deadlines while ensuring high quality of work.
Personal presence, intellect, energy and drive to succeed in a high-performance environment
Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
This is a hybrid position with work in the office when needed for meetings or events.
