Position Title: Safety and Security Officer
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports To: Safety Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the hospital’s Security and Safety Management plan by providing security for staff, patients, visitors, and REHAB property. Controls parking on the hospital grounds and completes required administrative duties. The Safety and Security Officer works under the direction of the Safety Supervisor.
Starting Wage: $18.159
The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant’s relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure:
Current State of Hawaii Guard license
Current BLS certification
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent
Skills/Experience:
Strong situational awareness and problem solving capability
Willingness to learn and develop
History of honesty, truthfulness, financial integrity and fair dealing
Demonstrated customer service skills
Demonstrated general computer knowledge
Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge and ability to perform minor equipment maintenance
Ability to operate most types of vehicles
Ability to work in a team, under stressful situations and emergencies
Dependable and able to adapt to change
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Licensure:
Valid State of Hawaii driver’s license
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) certification
Skills/Experience:
Six (6) months work experience as a Security Guard
One (1) year experience of customer service
Hospital security experience
Parking security experience
