Safety & Security Officer Supervisor Jobs in Norfolk, VA at Harbor’s Edge Continuing Care Retirement Community
Shield Private Security is seeking reliable and professional security officers to provide armed services for our clients and preform duties in the capacity of working armed sites. The position will be in OAKLAND, CA. There will be 10-hour to 12-hour shifts availability, OVERTIME DAILY! We do require mornings, swings and nights as well as all weekends and holidays. You will have the opportunity for higher pay based on performance and passing probationary period of employment.
Security Guard Duties and Responsibilities
Monitor company’s property and maintain a safe and secure environment
Watch for signs of crime or disorder; investigate disturbances
Act lawfully at all times in direct defense of life or property
Act as a consistent presence to deter criminals
Evict violators of rules and regulations
Report any suspicious/unusual occurrences to supervisors, authorities and management
Patrol premises randomly and regularly, including buildings and perimeter
Monitor and control access of building entrances and vehicle gates
Monitor alarm systems and video cameras
Perform first-aid and or CPR if needed (must possess a CPR-First Aid permit)
Security Guard Requirements and Qualifications
All applicants must have current certifications issued by the Bureau of Security and Investigative Services (Guard card, Exposed Firearm Permit, etc.) – REQUIRED
High school degree or equivalent (PREFERRED)
1 year of work experience as a security guard or other relevant position (PREFERRED)
Must be able to read, write and speak English – REQUIRED
All applicants must be willing to work days, nights, weekends and holidays – REQUIRED
Basic computer skills for reporting and communications (PREFERRED)
Ability to operate detecting systems and emergency equipment (PREFERRED)
Vast working knowledge of public safety and security procedures/protocols – (PREFERRED)
Willingness to comply with all laws and institutional regulations at all times – REQUIRED
Keen surveillance skills and detail orientation (PREFERRED)
Integrity, professionalism, and character beyond reproach – REQUIRED
