Responsibilities
Under the leadership of the school building administrator and guidance of the Office of Security and Emergency Management, this position provides armed protective services to maintain order, prevent crime on school property, buses, and at school-sponsored events. The role ensures the safety, security, and welfare of students, faculty, staff, and visitors. It also involves investigating policy violations and detaining students violating laws or school policies.
Knowledge,
Skills, and Abilities
The role requires knowledge of security practices, the ability to recognize and respond to emergencies, effective communication skills, and proficiency with security equipment. Understanding of ‘last resort’ threat circumstances requiring firearm use is essential.
Education and Experience
Required:
High School Diploma or GED, and experience as a law enforcement officer.
Preferred:
Experience working with children.
