Role Overview
The Seasonal Security Specialist (Level I) plays a vital role in ensuring a safe and secure environment for guests, employees, animals, property, and assets, while delivering exceptional guest service. Responsibilities include observing and reporting security concerns, controlling access, and maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Work Schedule
Must be able to work weekends and holidays as needed.
Available shifts include:
First Shift: Varying 8-hour shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Second Shift: 8-hour shifts between 3:00 PM and 11:30 PM
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Enforce access control and check-in procedures for visitors, vendors, and contractors.
Monitor campus activity using CCTV and security systems.
Report suspicious or unsafe incidents.
Maintain security equipment and produce incident reports.
Record activities and data accurately in electronic logs.
Stay updated on emergency procedures and respond accordingly.
Assist with snow and ice removal, provide first aid, and support emergency responses.
Engage professionally with guests to enhance their experience.
Promote a culture of safety within DZCA.
Respond to security emergencies and support security coverage at designated posts.
Qualifications
At least one year of experience in security, safety, loss prevention, or law enforcement, with a focus on guest service.
Experience in high-volume, customer-focused environments preferred.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with CCTV, access control, or incident reporting is a plus.
Ability to remain calm under pressure and make decisions quickly.
Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
Position Conditions
Must be at least 21 years old, with a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Pass a physical exam, background check, and pre-employment drug screening.
Obtain a Denver Security License.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays, and occasional overtime.
Ability to walk or stand for up to 8 hours in outdoor conditions.
Obtain and maintain certifications in Stop the Bleed, First Aid, CPR, and AED within 3 months of hire.
Compensation and Perks
Hourly rate: $19.50. A 5% pay differential applies for verified Spanish fluency.
