POSITION: Hotel Security Officer
JOB SUMMARY:
The Hotel Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for hotel guests, employees, and visitors. This role includes monitoring premises, responding to emergencies, and ensuring the protection of hotel property while upholding hotel policies and procedures.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Monitor and patrol hotel premises, including guest rooms, public areas, parking lots, and back-of-house areas to ensure safety and security.
Respond promptly and appropriately to emergencies, such as medical situations, fire alarms, disturbances, and security breaches.
Enforce hotel policies, including guest identification checks and access control to restricted areas.
Conduct regular security checks on doors, windows, and equipment to ensure proper security and functionality.
Assist guests with safety-related inquiries and concerns.
Write detailed incident reports documenting security breaches, violations, and emergencies.
Operate security equipment, such as surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and access control systems.
Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency responders when necessary.
Respond to and investigate suspicious activity, disturbances, or threats to hotel security.
Assist with crowd control during events and activities at the hotel.
Provide excellent customer service while maintaining the highest level of security.
Participate in ongoing security training and development programs.
Perform other duties or tasks as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma or equivalent (some college education preferred).
Previous security experience, preferably in a hospitality or hotel environment.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful or emergency situations.
Knowledge of local laws and regulations related to safety and security.
Physical ability to patrol hotel grounds and respond to emergency situations.
Certification in First Aid, CPR, or other relevant security training is a plus.
Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Professional appearance and demeanor.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience with surveillance systems and security technology.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
Conflict resolution skills and the ability to de-escalate tense situations.
Ability to work well under pressure and in dynamic environments.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $18.00 per hour
