Security and Administration Manager, BangladeshRole Purpose

To ensure the security of the British Council Bangladesh offices, including support to any off-site British Council Events, Projects Offices/Venues, and residences of UK-appointed staff in the city.

To liaise with internal British Council teams to ensure delivery of duty of care to British Council Bangladesh staff.

To manage the security team to provide necessary security protocols as and when required.

To provide transport and other Operations-related support as and when required.

Main Accountabilities But Not Limited To The Following

Security Management

Carrying out safety and Security-related assessments and analysis when required.

Share Safety and Security-related advisories with Staff and Senior Management.

Provide sound, accurate and reliable security briefings/sitreps and updates for the Head of Operations and Security and Director of Operations.

Act as a point of contact on all Safety and Security matters, ensuring implementation of Safety and Security policies, protocols, and procedures

Protocols

Manage visa-related formalities and documentation related to the stay of UKA staff and their dependants in Bangladesh.

Install security protocols related to the stay and movement of UK-appointed staff and their dependants in Bangladesh, where required.

Provide security guidelines, update security conditions in assigned locations on time, and implement/modify security plans as and when required.

Track and monitor all staff movement outside the British Council offices within working hours.

Administration Management

Deal with customers (both internal staff and external service providers) and communicate assertively/persuasively to coordinate complex activities.

Manage office activities such as transport management and office events as determined by the Head of Operations and Security.

Interpret specific British Council procedures to undertake delegated tasks, ensuring compliance with defined standards such as EFT and Health and safety.

Work collaboratively as part of a wider BSS to provide support for event arrangement, vendor management, administration, premises maintenance and protocol.

Risk Assessment and Crisis Management

Conduct the risk assessment of venues, premises, and other required locations.

Implementation of a business continuity plan based on the risk assessment.

Prepare emergency preparedness plans and ensure implementation of emergency drills to check the efficacy of prepared plans.

Making sure that all documents related to contingency, crisis and business continuity are regularly updated.

Responding to safety and security-related matters.

Monitoring and Supervision
