Position Summary
To be fully engaged in providing Uncompromised Safety, Superior Quality, Memorable Patient/Customer Experiences, and Financial Stewardship through armed security services to ensure the safety and security of associates, patients, and visitors of Health First facilities.
Job Responsibilities
Conduct internal and external security patrols to deter criminal activity and misconduct; investigate suspicious situations.
Respond to emergencies/disasters, coordinate law enforcement, medical, and fire assistance as needed.
Monitor for irregular or unsafe conditions, enforce rules, and warn violators.
Act as first responder for emergency codes and alarms, escort visitors and contractors, secure premises, and protect private information.
Manage access control, monitor entrances/exits, and update the badging system.
Investigate incidents, prepare reports, and assist visitors, patients, and staff courteously.
Maintain necessary certifications and training for professional competency.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
Police/Corrections Academy graduate, Associate’s in Criminal Justice, Military service, Law Enforcement experience, or Military Police/Combat Arms background.
Work Experience:
None required; two years of security officer experience in lieu of education.
Licensure:
Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Report.
Certifications:
Within 30 days of start, obtain AHA Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED or AHA BLS Healthcare Provider card.
Skills:
Crisis Prevention Training, physical ability to handle mental health crises, operate communication equipment, excellent customer service, situational assessment, attention to detail.
Physical Requirements
Mostly sitting or standing, occasional walking, bending, lifting up to 20 pounds.
Work in varied environments, may require travel and use of personal vehicle.
