Overview:
As a Security Control Specialist at Velociti Services you will ensure the safety and security of designated properties, assets, personnel, and visitors. You will investigate and report irregularities and guard against unlawful behavior and will be responsible for patrolling the premises, setting up security controls, monitoring property access, investigating suspicious behavior, and enforcing client security policies.
To be successful as a security officer you should be highly observant and able to objectively assess the severity of a situation. An outstanding security officer should be able to remain calm and decisive in any situation.
Responsibilities:
Duties / Responsibilities:
Inspecting and patrolling premises regularly
Monitoring surveillance cameras and reporting suspicious behavior
Communicating with law enforcement, fire departments, and emergency medical personnel
Monitoring public access and ensuring the security of all personnel and visitors
Responding to alarms and analyzing security footage
Investigating suspicious behavior, incidents, and security breaches
Maintaining an activity log and preparing surveillance reports
Adhering to client security policies / requirements and legal regulations
Other duties as assigned or requested
Qualifications:
Required Skills / Abilities:
High school diploma/GED
Appropriate state licensing to become security officer
Outstanding surveillance and observation skills
Excellent communication skills
Ability to exercise good judgment
Strong report writing skills
Working knowledge of public safety, security operations, and procedures
Knowledge of state laws and regulations
The ability to work well both as part of a team and on your own
The ability to make critical decisions under pressure
Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate
Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality
A strong commitment to company service values
Time management – organizing, planning, and prioritizing
Ability to multi-task and change directions easily
Act as a collaborative team player, possess a strong customer service orientation, and be a consultative problem solver
Physical Requirements:
Applicants for this role must be able to:
Lift, bend, squat, and stretch to move boxes, parcels, and shipments
Climb small to medium flights of stairs multiple times a day
Standing for extended periods of time
Approximately equal amount of time sitting and walking
Requires ability to bend, reach and stand for extended periods
Able to hear and speak into a telephone and walkie-talkie
Close visual work on a computer terminal
Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate any required computer keyboard, mouse, and other technical instruments
Able to lift and carry up to 30 lbs
Able to climb a ladder and work on a raised platform
