Management/Supervisory Scope: The Team Lead, Safety and Security Services is responsible for assisting with the supervision, schedule, and coordination of efforts of the Safety and Security Services staff.

Basic Function: The Team Lead, Safety and Security is responsible for ensuring the safety and security of properties of Trinity United Church of Christ (TUCC) and is responsible for Team Leader, supervisory responsibilities for staff in conjunction with the Supervisor, Safety and Security Services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Team Leader

Assumes a Team Leader role in making certain all TUCC properties are safe and secure and keeps the Supervisor, Safety and Security Services up-to-date on any special reports.

Reporting and Record Keeping

Reports to work prior to shift and checks punctuality, attendance, uniforms, grooming, and general fitness of duty for each Safety and Security Officer assigned to the shift and establishes work assignments.
Audit and evaluate checklist to ensure follow up and follow though of checklist for daily, weekly or other regular security duties.
Identifies priorities; issues special instructions for Safety and Security Services Team, including incidents, activities and fire reports, annoying telephone call log, bomb threat call checklists questions, natural disaster reports, etc.
Creates opportunities for team members to demonstrate and enhance knowledge, skills and abilities identified in formal development plans.
Performs daily routine duties of the Safety and Security Officer, as necessary.
This includes: Monitors traffic control of parishioners in the Church when activities are taking place and monitors vehicles entering and exiting the parking lots.
Secures and patrols the parking lots and their boundaries periodically officering against vandalism and theft.
Monitors/tours the building and grounds checking to ensure no unauthorized persons enter the property or building and/or ensures there are no unauthorized activities taking place on the property.
Ensures lights are turned on and off, ensures all exit doors, windows, and gates are secure, and ensures corridors are cleared from unsafe hazards and/or unauthorized persons.
Assists the Pastor and dignitaries, when necessary, and assists the congregation if it does not interfere or take security away from designated post.
Observes any unusual and/or unlawful activities on the post or its boundaries. Keeps work area clean and safe and adheres to uniform/dress procedures.
Checks posts thoroughly for safety, cleanliness and ensures all equipment is working i.e., (locks, lights, keys, chains, chairs, etc.).
Reports to command post at the beginning and end of shift and reports to command post anytime post is left vacant, i.e., patrols, bathroom breaks, lunch, and/or meetings.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements: This position requires a High School Diploma or GED equivalent, plus three (3) year’s work experience in a security environment. 1-2 years in a lead capacity is also preferred. The incumbent must demonstrate the ability to work well with others, follow written and oral instructions, and have a good command of basic verbal and written communications skills. The incumbent must demonstrate ability to utilize at a basic to intermediate level of MSWord and Internet Explorer. The incumbent must have a 20 (twenty) hour Security Certificate, valid drivers license and must complete a background check, a physical, and fingerprints. The incumbent must also demonstrate the ability to work in stressful conditions and under difficult situations. Normal hearing and vision or correctable hearing and vision to normal levels is required.

Work Schedule: The Team Lead, Security shall general work forty (40) hours each week in accordance with the schedule personally arranged, and mutually agreed to with the Supervisor, Safety and Security Services.

Working Conditions: This position is susceptible to job hazards; so protective clothing must be worn at all times. This position does require unusual or excessive physical exertion, so the incumbent must be able to physically lift, carry, pull, and push items up to 30 lbs. The candidate must also be able to tolerate extended periods of standing, walking, noises, vibrations, stooping, and kneeling.
