Security Emergency Response Team – Las Vegas, NV

Summary: Responsible for providing a highly visible and professional armed response to the property, acting as a deterrent and responding to security and emergency situations, including acts or threats of violence, emergencies, and life safety threats. Duties are performed in accordance with departmental and property policies. This position requires specialized training and physical conditioning.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Provide protection for guests and team members.

Respond to emergency situations such as acts of violence, crisis, weapons incidents, natural disasters, and other hazards, following established protocols and using appropriate escalation of force.

Assist in providing backup to the security team and securing the scene during incidents.

Coordinate with emergency responders, conduct evacuations, and provide first aid as needed.

Maintain proficiency with all protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.

Collaborate with other departments, management, and law enforcement as required.

Adhere to all security policies, gaming laws, and regulations, including Title 31 and federal requirements.

Deliver excellent guest service promptly and professionally.

Perform additional security, training, or administrative duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum 2 years of experience as a law enforcement officer, military, or related combat MOS with practices in use of force, including firearms.

Must complete pre-employment firearms qualification.

Demonstrated sound judgment and decision-making in challenging situations and with difficult patrons.

Ability to respond effectively to active shooter, assault, or similar situations.

Proven guest service skills and ability to communicate effectively in English.

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office preferred.

Ability to interpret safety and operational documents and write routine reports.

Complete quarterly firearms training and annual security recertification.

Must be at least 21 years old, with a high school diploma or equivalent.

Obtain and maintain necessary work cards, including Nevada Gaming, Alcohol Awareness, Nevada Driver’s License, DMV printout, CPR, and First Aid.

Physical Requirements:

Work in extreme heat and cold, walk, stand, run, and lift objects up to 75 lbs.

Ascend/descend ladders, stairs, and ramps; distinguish shades of color; communicate via radios.

Work Environment:

Indoor and outdoor, noisy, hot/cold, with bright lights, heights, and emergency situations.
