Security-Gate Guard Jobs in Dragoon, AZ at Excelsior Mining, Inc.
Gunnison Copper formerly Excelsior Mining, has an immediate employment opportunity for Security-Gate Guard at its operations at Johnson Camp Mine / Gunnison Project located in southeastern Arizona between the cities of Benson and Willcox.
This position is responsible for controlling entry gate activity, assisting visitors/truck drivers (including a scale operation) and general clerical support function for the company.
Responsibilities:
Greets Visitors and provides direction/assistance
Controls site access entry and egress at assigned gate areas
Participates in security functions such as vehicle/property searches
Provides site specific Hazard training orientation for visitors/vendors as needed
Conduct equipment and vehicle acceptance reviews
Cooperate with and support Safety/Security functions as needed
Effective communication required
Complete daily log books
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous security experience or loss control experience helpful but not required.
Previous mine experience a plus
Must be able to use a radio or phone
Typing, filing and record keeping skills are necessary for this position
Arizona State Guard License preferred but not required.
Additional Requirements:
Must have a valid Drivers’ License
May be required to work rotating shifts 24/7/365
Must have the ability to work in a team environment
Computer skills including: Word, Excel and Outlook
Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing
Excellent organizational skills
Knowledge of laws and regulations in the mining industry preferred
Must be a highly motivated, energetic team player who enjoys a fast-paced work environment

Safe operation of a vehicle, including mounting, dismounting and operating within appropriate speed limits

Daily lifting and carrying may also be required.
Frequently lifting and carrying 1-10 lbs.
Occasionally lifting and carrying 11-50 lbs.
Job may also require walking on uneven ground
Exposure to extremes in temperature, humidity, and wetness.
