The Security Guard supervisor not only patrols the hotel and grounds and responds to security and emergency situations, promptly handles emergencies, accidents, injuries, missing articles, damage, engineering items and safety hazards, while ensuring the security team is trained, supported, and accountable.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS
Full-time with availability for varied evening and overnight shifts. Must be available weekends.
1 or more years of related experience preferred.
Must be a registered New York State security guard with CPR/First Aid/AED certification (or willing to obtain certification).
A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
Refined verbal communication skills.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Maintain the highest level of safety and security for guests and employees.
Patrol hotel areas including surrounding grounds and parking lots via property walks and video surveillance. Address any unusual circumstances, safety violations or accidents and injuries.
Supervising lower-level security guards
Maintaining daily records
Assisting the security manager when necessary
Leading emergency response drills
Performing investigations and holding interviews
Conducting inspections for physical and safety hazards
Maintain constant emergency readiness. Respond immediately to all emergency alarms and calls for assistance covering a variety of concerns. Determine course of action and notify appropriate management and/or authorities as needed.
Conduct investigations of security incidents and complete required forms.
Assist hotel operations with guest requests. Approach guest encounters in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
Report to work when scheduled and in proper uniform.
Maintain a consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests, vendors and associates.
Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security and emergency procedures.
Any other tasks / duties as requested by management.
