The Security Guard maintains the safety and security for a site / plant / building by controlling access, monitoring the premises and people / traffic
The Security Guard is responsible for a site / plant / building, preventing trespassing and keeping track of all incoming and outgoing traffic / people, in accordance with the relevant procedures and work instructions. The work is well defined and standardized
Job Description:
Access control
Controls access of people and traffic to the site / plant / building in accordance with the access and safety regulations, in orde to maintain the safety and
security of the site / plant / building / people and equipment
Verifies credentials of people entering, permitting entry in accordance with the relevant access control regulations
Controls incoming traffic by directing drivers, carries out inspections of vehicles and/or property to check for suspicious items, assures that vehicles /
packages leaving the property are duly authorized
Informs violators of relevant policis and procedures; restrains trespassers
Secures premises and personnel by patrolling, monitoring surveillance equipment (closed circuit systems); inspecting buildings, equipment, and access
points, checking gates, doors, windows tot determine security and to avoid security breaches
Incident management
In case of fire, emergencies or other incidents, obtains help by sounding alarms and/or alarming emergency services; may assist in case of evacuation
Directs emergency services to an incident location
Good housekeeping
Maintains a safe and clean environment by monitoring and setting building and equipment controls, reporting irregularities and/or directly addressing
violators
Reporting
Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences and surveillance activities; keeps access records and relevant paperwork. Reports
security violations and emergencies. May process access information in relevant data systems
Other duties
May perform other tasks such as:
