Job Summary:
We are seeking a dependable entry-level unarmed security guard to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a secure environment through active patrol monitoring, and access control. This position supports U.S Customs and Border Protection (CBP) activities and includes maintaining accurate daily logs of all personnel and vehicle entry and exit activity.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to ensure security of premises
Verify identification and ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles enter the property
Identify suspicious behavior and potential threats through visual observation and security cameras
Document any incidents, suspicious activity, or security breaches in detailed reports
Report and respond to alarms and investigate disturbances
Assist with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) inspections
Maintain daily logs for personnel and vehicle entry/exit, patrol rounds, incident reports, maintenance checks, and suspicious activities
Check vehicle passes and contents for compliance with entry requirements
Take immediate action in case of emergencies like fires, medical situations, or active threats, including contacting the appropriate emergency services
Ensure that all documents are filed correctly and are easily accessible when needed for auditing or reference
Provide assistance to customers, employees, or visitors in a courteous manner
Maintain a clean and organized work space
Follow all safety protocols in compliance with department policies, as well as federal and state regulations
Understand and adhere to all company policies and procedures while always maintaining professionalism
Qualifications and Requirements:
Must pass background check and drug screenings
Must maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive or private information
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Ability to remain calm and alert during potentially stressful situations
Ability to effectively communicate with individuals at all levels within the organization
Strong observation skills to effectively identify and respond to unusual or suspicious activity
Attendance at work and punctuality are an essential function of this position
Required frequently: standing, walking, kneeling, squatting, bending, reaching, and work in hot or cold temperatures
Required Education: High School or equivalent
