The Part Time Guard is responsible for protecting property and personnel by patrolling the facility and acting as access control for visitors. Must be available to work Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday nights or Saturday, Sunday, and Monday nights dependent upon availability. (Nights could possibly vary slightly).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain security of premises by conducting inside and outside patrols of the secure facility. Must make up to 3 rounds of the property and docks.

Maintain a professional appearance, uniform and manner at all times.

Coordinate with police, fire and emergency medical personnel when necessary.

Provide customer service by making sure doors and vehicles are secure.

Report any trespasses or crimes to the local police authorities.

Complete daily activity log and monitor camera system.

Monitor areas for safety hazards including theft and vandalism.

Availability to work overtime when required.

Other duties as assigned by Manager.

Safety and Environmental Responsibilities

Follow SHM Safety and Environmental rules and complete required related training.

Wear proper personal protective equipment as required for the task or work area.

Report all accidents, injuries, spills and near misses immediately.

Technical and

Physical Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Previous security experience preferred.

Ability to stand, walk and/or sit and continuously perform essential job functions for duration of shift.

Ability to perform tasks requiring bending, stooping, kneeling, and walking significant distances between and within buildings on the property.

Must have a valid Driver’s License.

Ability to work in all weather conditions.
