Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced and professional (and ability to be armed) Security Guard III to support the reception desk, control and monitor access to the facility, and maintain the safety and security of the employees and visitors. The Security Guard III will serve as the first point of contact at the headquarters of our business. This role combines strong customer service, with security, safety/emergency response, and reception responsibilities, ensuring that all personnel and visitors entering the facility comply with company access and facility security protocols. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound judgment, discretion, high level of security awareness, and professionalism in a customer and an executive-facing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary security presence at the headquarters’ reception area, greeting employees, executives, clients, and visitors professionally and courteously.
Verify identification and security clearance credentials in accordance with DoD and company policy.
Enforce access control protocols, including managing visitor check-ins, issuing badges, and maintaining visitor logs via electronic systems.
Operate and monitor security systems, including surveillance cameras, access control systems, duress alarms, and communication radios.
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, alarms, or emergencies (e.g., unauthorized access, suspicious activity, fire, or medical incidents), documenting all occurrences thoroughly.
Serve as the site the Facility Security Officer (FSO) or alternate FSo to ensure compliance with NISPOM and internal security procedures.
Establish and maintain relationships with Building Management security and local law enforcement. Serve as the liaison between HQ and those entities.
Maintain a secure and orderly front desk area; screen and deliver mail, packages, and deliveries as necessary.
Provide support during emergency situations, including evacuations, emergency events (medical, weather warnings, fire, etc), following established procedures. Includes coordinating/collaborating on emergency related drills and training events.
Collaborates with Building Management security and emergency protocols.
Assist with onboarding of new personnel by issuing access credentials, badging employees, and briefing on HQ security policies.
Support executive protection and event security logistics as needed for high-level visitors or sensitive meetings.
May require supporting administrative tasks, such as office supplies, safety equipment inspections, etc.
Serve as escort for visitors, contractors, etc. when necessary.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required; some college or military/law enforcement background preferred.
6+ years of security experience in a corporate, government, or defense environment, with a minimum of 2 years of experience in law enforcement, military or armed security.
Must possess a valid state-issued armed guard license.
Prior experience in a high-visibility, public-facing security role strongly preferred.
Working knowledge of DoD security procedures and familiarity with NISPOM, including policy and program development.
Class G Security Certification (or ability to obtain Class G).
PERC Card.
Guard Card for Florida.
Currently certified or able to obtain CPR and advanced first aid certifications.
Requirements/Skills:
Ability to remain calm under pressure, excellent judgement.
Excellent customer service skills.
Familiar with security systems, badging software, and capacity to learn new technologies and systems.
Strong attention to detail and critical thinking abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Acts with integrity, works collaboratively, meets commitments, is willing to learn, and stays current area of expertise.
Other Requirements:
Travel: Minimal travel expected.
Work Environment:
Typically, office work environment.
Must be able to remain at post, standing or seated for extended periods.
May require walking patrols, escorting visitors, and emergency response support.
May be required to work special events if needed.
