Security Guard – Temporary Jobs in Oxnard, CA at Allied Universal®

Summary: When assigned, maintains policies and programs to ensure physical safety of the casino’s guests, employees, property and assets; complies with Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board security requirements and the casino’s internal controls.

Essential Job Functions:

A Supervisor Security may fill the role of Dual Rate Manager Security Shift in the absence of a Shift Manager Security.
A Shift Manager Security may dual rate down once in a shift to a Supervisor Security but may not dual rate back up again to a Shift Manager Security in the same shift.
Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting Rivers Casino Philadelphia Core Values at all times
Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive work atmosphere
Maintain grooming and uniform standards. Overall appearance is to be immaculate and nametags are to be worn at all times, and ensure that the Security Department Team adhere to the same standards
Provides exceptional customer service to guests at all times
Be aware of and handle guest opportunities
Maintain daily log, i.e. time clocks, sign-in sheets when available
Respond to disturbances in order to defuse the incident. Be prepared to become involved in a physical confrontation when necessary. Always remain Alert
Observe, report, and take-action as directed by leadership with respect to all suspicious, unusual situations
Responds to suspicions of problem or underage gambling and alcohol or drug intoxication in accordance with established procedures and protocols
Contacts supervisor when security situations require intervention beyond scope of authority
Ensures compliance with operational procedures for activities such as guest service standards, fire prevention emergency response, guarding and patrolling the physical property, orienting and monitoring of personnel involved with gaming protection activities, and investigation of accidents and criminal acts.
Ensures compliance with all regulatory controls both internal and external including but not limited to state and federal labor laws and the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board regulations and guidelines.
Manages Officer Security, Senior Officer Security, Supervisor Patrol, and Supervisor Security assisting with guest interactions and transactions as needed.
Responsible for developing criteria and suitability for future candidates.
Confers with representatives of management to recommend policy changes, determines need for programs and training, and coordinates programs with the casino’s goals and objectives and regulatory requirements.
Works with representatives of local government to ensure cooperation and coordination of casino activities with law enforcement and firefighting agencies.
Directs activities of workers involved in workplace safety programs.
Reviews and approves all Officer Security performance.
Hires, trains and manages staff in accordance with organizational and approved departmental policies, practices and programs.
Performs or assists with the duties of an EMT when the need arises
Respond to and assist with emergencies, including but not limited to fires, medical, and criminal activity, in accordance with established procedures
Answers emergency calls as a First Responder to provide efficient and immediate care to ill and injured guests or team members until higher level emergency responders (such as EMT or Paramedics) arrive
Has a basic understanding of stress response and methods to ensure personal well-being
Complies with regulations on the handling of the deceased, protection of property and evidence at the scene, while awaiting additional EMS resources
Using a limited amount of equipment, the EMT renders emergency medical care based on assessment findings
Interviews guests and Team Members when security incidents occur
Obtains assistance for accident victims
Writes detailed security reports
Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two or more years of previous experience in security or law enforcement
Must be EMT certified or within 6 months of being hired.
Previous supervisory experience preferred
Gaming leadership experience preferred
Knowledge of state gaming regulations, safety and security practices and protocols.
Background and knowledge of security operations, Occupational Safety and Health association (OSHA) regulations, safety, investigation, and legal issues.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent leadership/motivation skills.
Excellent organization and planning skills.
Excellent knowledge of various computers programs including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
Available to work flexible shifts, weekends and holidays.
Ability to obtain and maintain all necessary licensing.

Physical and Mental Demands:

Regularly required to see, walk, talk and hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
Ability to work in a noisy and smoky environment.
Must occasionally move and lift up to 25 pounds.
Able to work with others while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
