Overview
To assist in the maintenance and installation of campus and branch physical security systems, including Access Control (ACS), Video Surveillance, Emergency Call Stations (ECS), Intrusion Detection Systems, vaults, locks, and keys to ensure business continuity, and a secure working environment for all NFCU locations. Work is performed under direct supervision.
Responsibilities
Assist senior staff in the planning of physical security projects to include scoping, budgeting and estimating timelines
Participate in and manage aspects of physical security projects as delegated by senior staff
Program and configure systems using computer-based software applications
Procure materials for assigned projects under guidance of senior staff
Maintain inventory of spare parts and instrumentation for system repair and calibration
Diagnose basic operational problems to physical security systems and perform repairs
Maintain equipment with the following electrical system voltages: 5-48 volt DC, 120 volt AC/DC
Troubleshoot basic problems with physical security systems
Assist senior staff with installation of specialized security systems
Assist in performing technical upgrades/changes to improve system performance
Assist in configuring IP-based systems to include:
Rack Assembly
Mounting/interconnecting hardware
Wiring devices for power and communication
Labeling/testing equipment
Keep updated on mandated safety requirements and ensure compliance
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Experience in information technology, construction, physical security, or electrical engineering
Experience managing multiple priorities independently and/or in a team environment to achieve goals
Working knowledge of various Windows operating systems
Working knowledge of and experience in using basic hand and power tools
Working knowledge of electronics, including circuits, electronic flow, use of multi-meter and wiring
Familiarity with computer hardware (e.g., motherboards, hard drives, RAM, etc.)
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Must possess a valid state of residence driver’s license
Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Effective organizational, planning and time management skills
Effective database and word processing software skills
Effective skill exercising initiative and using good judgment to make sound decisions
High school diploma or GED equivalent or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Desired Qualifications
Working knowledge of various access control and video management systems
Working knowledge of networks including switches and routers
Familiarity with blueprints, diagrams, engineering drawings, and manufacturer manuals
Working knowledge of Navy Federal products, services, programs, policies, and procedures
Hours: Monday – Friday, 7:00AM – 3:30PM
Location: 141 Security Drive, Winchester, VA 22602 (Full time on-site)
