Security Officer Position

About the Role
As a Security Officer at MedStar Health, you will play a vital role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our healthcare community. This position combines vigilant security oversight with professional customer service to support our mission of exceptional patient care.
Core Responsibilities
Conduct regular patrols of hospital premises to ensure safety and security
Respond promptly to security calls and emergency situations
Monitor and report potential security risks affecting patients, staff, visitors, or facilities
Implement and enforce security policies and procedures
Provide mentorship and training to junior security staff members
Serve in charge role as needed
Maintain required documentation and incident reports
Work collaboratively with healthcare staff and law enforcement when necessary
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED
Valid driver’s license
Experience requirements:
Officer I: 1-2 years of security experience
Officer II: 5-7 years of security experience
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
Physical ability to patrol premises and respond to emergencies
