POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for day-to-day support for classified programs. Assist the Facility Security Officer (FSO) with meeting requirements of the National Industrial Security Program (NISPOM), visitor reception, COMSEC operations, security education and awareness, investigations, access control. Assist with the Insider Threat Program.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: Because Eastern Shipbuilding is continually growing to meet the needs of our customers, the essential duties and responsibilities may be different than described.
Regular attendance at work and the ability to work flexible hours, including overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Direct and troubleshoot problems with the badge management system for all employees, service and technical representatives, contractors, and visitors to Eastern Shipbuilding Group facilities.
Assist with security visitation policies and procedures in accordance with existing and future requirements.
Control Security of employee identification cards and records and arrange visit authorizations for employees and others to gain access to controlled areas.
Assist with training, if applicable, developing subordinates, review their performance, and recommend Visitor Control employee status changes including compensation, promotions and transfers.
Provide administrative support to the FSO; function as alternate FSO.
Process Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) visit request.
Capture images and create employee/non-employee badges.
Maintain visitor and employee records relative to access control of the facility.
Issue camera passes as needed and other specialized badges.
Promote workplace safety by ensuring work areas are clean and free of obstructions.
Administer Eastern Shipbuilding employees visit request to offsite government contractor facilities.
Liaise with all departments, vendors, visitors, tenants and teammates.
Work with minimal supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities. Travel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-area and overnight travel may be required.
Job Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
Experience: Three years security administrative experience at a defense contractors’ facility desired. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. Requires working knowledge of the NISPOM, JPAS, Export Controls and ITAR. Visitor Control experience preferred
Skills: Intermediate level to advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and Outlook Express, with the ability to quickly learn new software programs. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from senior management, employees, government officials, and the public. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form. Ability to multi-task, organize and complete multiple high-priority projects.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, fax machines, and smartphones. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
