JOB SUMMARY:
We are seeking a hands-on Security Officer to join our team in the newly formed Trust & Safety Department. In this role, you will scale up our existing security infrastructure, identify and mitigate security threats, and implement processes to safeguard our organization. Your expertise will play a critical role in protecting our operations and enabling safe growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and implement foundational security systems, processes, and protocols tailored to our company’s needs.
Identify and investigate anomalies, patterns, and correlations in user and billing data, reporting potential security threats.
Handle chargeback rebuttals, detect fraud patterns, and monitor user and billing anomalies to mitigate risks.
Establish and maintain reports to track user behavior anomalies and billing discrepancies.
Train C-suite and other employees on security best practices, including protection against social engineering, phishing, and other cybersecurity threats.
Research and analyze emerging cyber threats, providing actionable recommendations to prevent potential attacks.
Stay informed on global hacking trends, ecosystems, and vulnerabilities to anticipate and address threats.
Scale and enhance KYC (Know Your Customer) and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) processes to support safe growth.
Conduct payment risk analysis to identify and address potential vulnerabilities in financial transactions.
Build relationships with third-party vendors and external partners to strengthen overall security capabilities.
YOUR PROFILE:
Proven experience in security, risk analysis, fraud detection, or a related field.
Deep curiosity and ability to analyze data to detect non-obvious patterns or anomalies.
Strong understanding of cyber threats, including credential stuffing, spear phishing, social engineering, and ransomware.
Experience with payment risk analysis and fraud detection strategies.
Familiarity with global security ecosystems and the ability to assess and prevent cyber threats.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously.
Strong communication skills to effectively train and collaborate with team members and executives.
A proactive mindset with a focus on building and implementing security infrastructure from scratch.
Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations. Experience advising on data privacy risks, policies, and compliance frameworks, including handling subject access requests and data security measures.
Knowledge of KYC/AML processes is a plus.

Familiarity with cybersecurity resources such as Krebs on Security and industry trends.
Experience in monitoring forums or platforms used by malicious actors to understand hacking trends and mitigate risks.
Understanding of globally distributed business operations and the unique security challenges they pose.
